Saturday morning, April 10 – Kremlin Territory
The Moscow Kremlin is the chief architectural ensemble of the city. Along the South wall of the Kremlin, overlooking the Moscow River, you will find the Grand Kremlin Palace. Within the Kremlin there is Cathedral Square, the so‐called City of God. Six buildings, including three enormous cathedrals, edge the square. Most of them are the work of Italian architects during the late 15th and early 16th Century. The Armory building built in 1851 as a factory for making weapons now houses a museum, in which an enormous collection of Russian national treasures, including the famous Faberge eggs, carriages, cookware, and jewelry is on display. The State Historical Museum is located outside the walls.
Tuesday morning, April 13 – Hermitage State Museum
The world famous art collection of Hermitage is accommodated in four buildings: The Winter Palace, Small Hermitage, Old Hermitage, and New Hermitage. The Winter Palace is part of the Hermitage, the fabulously rich treasure house of Western European art (da Vinci, Raphael, Rembrandt etc.) and antiquities of sculpture and archaeological relics. The tour includes the general orientation excursion around the museum—to show visitors the highlights of the museum collection.
