Ivane Nachkebia is a research consultant for budget and entitlement policy at the Cato Institute, with a primary focus on Social Security. He writes regularly on the Debt Dispatch (Substack), the no.1 fiscal newsletter read by members of Congress. He is the co-author, with Romina Boccia, of Reimagining Social Security: Global Lessons for Retirement Policy Changes (Cato Institute, 2025).
Originally from Georgia, Ivane completed his bachelor’s degree in economics at the International School of Economics in Tbilisi. He holds a master’s degree in digital economy from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
