Germany’s recent election results are signaling a shift in political climate for the European country. Friedrich Merz, head of the center-right opposition party, won the election over the weekend, defeating outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Joshua Shifrinson, a non-resident senior fellow at the Cato Institute, is available to discuss how this shift could impact U.S.-German relations moving forward.
Shifrinson also talked about the future of NATO during a discussion with Justin Logan, Cato’s director of defense and foreign policy studies, and Marc Trachtenberg, professor emeritus at UCLA.
If you’d like to speak with Shifrinson, please reach out to mmiller@cato.org.
