Steve Kurtz

Vice President and Chief Digital Officer

Steve Kurtz is vice president and chief digital officer at the Cato Institute. He is responsible for web development, digital marketing, enterprise technology, and data services—aligning all of Cato’s technology with the strategic priorities of the Institute.

Prior to joining Cato, Kurtz served as the chief digital officer for Questex LLC, a global business‐​to‐​business media company. Before Questex, he was the vice president of product development for Gannett and USA Today. In addition to website development, Kurtz led Gannett in developing the first mobile and tablet applications for the company’s more than 100 local newspapers and 40 television stations.

Kurtz holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in computer information systems from James Madison University.
