Solveig began her career by studying policy issues relating to technology, serving as the Cato Institute’s director of information studies in the early days of the internet. She later joined the Competitive Enterprise Institute and then the Progress and Freedom Foundation as a senior analyst. After some years working as a lawyer and writer, she developed a keen interest in financial regulation, consumer protection, and economic freedom. Her articles have appeared in the Washington Post, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Washington Times, and the Wall Street Journal, as well as in books and academic journals. She has testified before Congress and administrative agencies. Her undergraduate degree is from Reed College, where she majored in philosophy. She graduated cum laude from Cornell Law School.
