Paul Best is the managing editor and senior writer for Free Society, the Cato Institute’s quarterly magazine. He coordinates all aspects of the magazine’s production, from day-to-day operations to long-term editorial strategy. His own reporting in Free Society focuses on economic issues and government overreach.

Before joining Cato, Paul worked as a television producer for John Stossel and Kennedy, and as a news reporter for Fox News and Fox Business’ digital platforms. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in economics and psychology.
