Prior to visiting at Scalia Law, Professor Schooner taught for over 30 years at the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. She also has been a visiting professor at Suffolk University Law School and at George Washington University Law School. As a practicing lawyer, Professor Schooner was in house counsel for First American Metro Corp., a bank holding company. She also worked in the General Counsel’s Office of the Securities and Exchange Commission and as an associate with a private law firm. Professor Schooner received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University with honors and juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
Heidi M. Schooner
Heidi Mandanis Schooner is a Visiting Professor of Law at Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University, teaching Contracts, Business Associations, and Bank Regulation. Her scholarship examines the goal of financial stability through the regulation of financial institutions. She is the co-author of a textbook on international bank regulation: Global Bank Regulation: Principles and Policies (with Michael W. Taylor). Her articles have been featured in publications including the George Washington Law Review, Boston College Law Review, University of Georgia Law Review, Alabama Law Review, and the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law. She has testified before the United States Senate Banking Committee and has served as a consultant to the International Monetary Fund and to various federal and state agencies.
