Darpana Sheth serves as general counsel for the Center for Individual Rights and is a nationally recognized constitutional litigator with over 20 years of experience in leadership roles at other nonprofit organizations. Before joining CIR, she spent four years as vice president of litigation for the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression. Prior to that, she was a senior attorney with the Institute for Justice. She is also a member of the Federalist Society’s Free Speech Practice Group Executive Committee. Before entering public interest litigation, Sheth served as an assistant attorney general for the State of New York and worked in private practice in Manhattan. She also clerked for the Honorable Jerome Holmes of the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Sheth earned degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University Law Center.
