Omary has conducted research on a variety of topics, including psychiatric overdiagnosis, sex differences in mental health, hormones and brain development (as an NIH Fellow working on the Human Connectome Project), adolescent social media use, and the policy incentives driving rising mental health spending. His articles have been published in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Psychology Today, and academic journals including Child Development, Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, Neuropsychoanalysis, and Cyberpsychology.
Omary completed his PhD in Psychology at Harvard University under the advisement of Steven Pinker. He was a QuestBridge Scholar at the University of Southern California, where he received his BA in Cognitive Science and MS in Biostatistics.
