The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to vote on the bipartisan HALT Fentanyl Act, which aims to permanently classify illicit fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I, garnering support from 22 Senate cosponsors. President Trump’s Office of Management and Budget has indicated that he will sign the bill if passed.
