This week, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will hold a hearing called “Nuuk and Cranny: Looking at the Arctic and Greenland’s Geostrategic Importance to U.S. Interest.”
As President Donald Trump continues discussing his expansionist aspirations, including acquiring Greenland, this hearing will explore Greenland’s significance to the American economy and national security.
Doug Bandow, a Senior Fellow at the Cato Institute, has previously commented on President Trump’s expansion plans, calling them “nonsense” and cautioning that the president shouldn’t fall into the “trap of wanting the U.S. to ever expand.”
If you would like to set up an interview with Doug, please reach out to pr@cato.org.
