Happening tomorrow: Erec Smith, a research fellow at the Cato Institute, will testify before the House Oversight Health Care and Financial Services Subcommittee in a hearing titled “Sacrificing Excellence for Ideology: The Real Cost of DEI.”
Smith will discuss the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion and how it obstructs the mission of higher education. Smith states that DEI “systematically dismantles meritocratic principles, harms students’ readiness for post-college life, encourages performative prefigurative politics within campuses, and has spawned a thriving industry nourished by university dollars.”
