Featuring Bradley A. Smith, Capital University School of Law; Representative Mike Pence (R-IN); and moderated by John Samples, Director, Center for Representative Government, Cato Institute
Bradley Smith’s nomination to the Federal Election Commission in 1999 was controversial. Partisans of campaign finance regulation believed he would refuse to enforce the campaign finance laws. Supporters of political liberty hoped Smith would move the nation closer to the First Amendment. Smith has now finished his term at the FEC and returned to teaching law. Please join us as we assess and celebrate Brad Smith’s struggle to defend liberty and the Constitution.
