The Cato University Seminar Registration fee includes all lectures and discussions, readings, and meals (breakfasts, luncheons, receptions, and dinners for six days). Some scholarships are available for full‐time students. The registration fee does not include your room and tax, incidentals (such as phone calls or room service), or transportation.
Hotel and Travel Information
We have a limited number of guest room accommodations at the Embassy Suites Washington D.C. Convention Center. Rooms will be assigned on a first come first serve basis while available. Register early to secure your accommodations. The Embassy Suites is located 1/2 block south of Cato at 900 Tenth St. N.W., Washington D.C. Valet parking is available for $46 per night. The hotel is approximately 20 minutes from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), 45 minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), and 50 minutes from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI). Estimated one‐way taxi fares are $20, $65 and $75 respectively. Alternate transportation is available through SuperShuttle shared van service; 24‐hour advance notice is required.
The Cato Institute and Embassy Suites are both conveniently located within walking distance to Washington’s Metro system. Please visit WMATA for full details. All of the city’s major attractions, including the National Monuments, Smithsonian Museums and Georgetown, are Metro accessible.
