Charlotte Twight, economist and attorney, is professor of economics at Boise State University. She is an expert on expansion of the federal government's power in such areas as medical care, public education, data collection, Social Security, and income tax withholding. She is the author of Dependent on D.C.: The Rise of Federal Control over the Lives of Ordinary Americans (Palgrave/St. Martin's Press, 2002).
