Before joining Cato in 1999 as the director of government affairs, Chamberlin practiced and taught law. In practice, she represented clients as varied as property owners suing telecom and railroad companies for trespass and the National Republican Congressional Committee (Wiley, Rein & Fielding) trying to find its way through the federal election law maze. Chamberlin also taught legal research and writing at the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C. She earned her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Maryland.
