This month’s e‑Briefing features a discussion about civil liberties 10 years after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Are we safer today than we were a decade ago? What consequences have post‑9/11 policies had on cherished liberties? David Rittgers will address these questions and more as we explore issues regarding civil liberties, counterterrorism, and criminal justice. David is the author of the new Cato study “Abolish the Department of Homeland Security”. Prior to joining Cato, he served in the United States Army as an Infantry and Special Forces officer, including three tours in Afghanistan.
