The transatlantic trade and investment relationship is massive. Annual trade flows in the neighborhood of $1 trillion and cross‐border direct investment stocks totaling $3.7 trillion speak to a highly interdependent transatlantic relationship. Nevertheless, tariffs and other non‐tariff barriers to trade remain prominent impediments to deeper integration. Negotiations to achieve greater transatlantic integration were launched in 2013, but a successful conclusion to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) has thus far proven elusive.

On this page you will find Cato analyses of various aspects of the TTIP negotiations, transatlantic trade disputes, and other issues affecting the transatlantic trade and investment relationship.
