Thomas A. Firey is a senior fellow and managing editor of the Cato Institute’s magazine [*Regulation*](https://www.cato.org/regulation/). He also is senior fellow for the Maryland Public Policy Institute.

Firey has published op-eds in the *New York Times*, the *Washington Post*, *USA Today*, *Hartford Courant*, and the *Baltimore Sun*.

Firey holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from St. Mary’s College and a master’s in philosophy from Virginia Tech.
