Nicholas Thielman was a Research Associate at the [Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives](https://www.cato.org/center-monetary-financial-alternatives), where he works on various projects pertaining to decentralized finance, cryptocurrency, Free Banking, and monetary policy. Prior to coming to Cato, Nick worked in the United Kingdom for Amey-Ferrovial, and in the energy retail industry.

Originally from Cleveland, he is a graduate of Ashland University, with a BA in Economics and International Political Studies. Presently, he is pursuing an MA in Political Science at George Mason University.
