# Jacob Winter

Jacob Winter was a research associate in economics at the Cato Institute, where he managed the [Research Briefs in Economic Policy](https://www.cato.org/search/category/study+research-briefs-economic-policy) series. His work focused on the unintended consequences of government policy, particularly drug prohibition. A native of Mid-Michigan, Jacob received his BA in economics from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude and with highest honors. While at Cato, he was also a high school government and economics teacher in Boston.
