In the Cato Institute’s new white paper, *Policy Priorities for the 114th Congress*, we outline practical reforms Congress and the administration could adopt in the direction of limiting government and expanding freedom. From reforms of the tax code to changes to immigration, healthcare, civil asset forfeiture policy and more, Cato scholars will illuminate a path that members of both parties can follow to curb an expansive government. Dan Mitchell will talk about fiscal policy, including state taxing power and Internet sales. Alex Nowrasteh will highlight the benefits of immigration and building a wall around the welfare state instead of the country. Michael Cannon will discuss the implications for Congress and the president’s health care law based on the Supreme Court decision on *King v. Burwell*. Finally, Trevor Burrus will outline the ways that law enforcement efforts have skirted common standards of due process, endangered the life and liberty of innocent Americans and how Congress can help check such abuses.
