Public schooling has always been a site of social conflict, with diverse people forced to contend with each other to determine what the schools for which they all must pay will teach. But something seems to have changed in the past few years, with battles feeling more heated than ever before.

In this forum, historian Jonathan Zimmerman will discuss the newly revised, 20th anniversary edition of his book *Whose America: Culture Wars in the Public Schools*, which dives into both historical conflicts and our present-day battles and contemplates how to find common ground. He will be joined by Cato Center for Educational Freedom Director Neal McCluskey, whose own new book, *The Fractured Schoolhouse: Reexamining Education for a Free, Equal, and Harmonious Society*, contemplates much of the conflict Zimmerman has chronicled and suggests that educational choice offers the best hope for peace and unity.

Please join us at 1:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 15, for this timely discussion.
