# Daniel Griswold blasts trade restrictions. 

Trade makes us more valuable, more productive and raises our standard of living. Daniel T. Griswold, director of the Cato Institute’s Center for Trade Policy Studies, is author of the new book [*Mad About Trade*](http://store.cato.org/index.asp?fa=ProductDetails&method=&pid=1441444). In it he describes the ongoing benefits of free trade and the damaging effects of efforts to curtail it.
