Immigration Policy for a Free Society
Cato Sponsor e‐Briefing
Thursday, October 20, 2011
Noon – 1 p.m. EDT
Featuring a presentation and live discussion with Daniel Griswold, Director, Herbert A. Stiefel Center for Trade Policy Studies, Cato Institute; moderated by Caleb O. Brown, Director of Multimedia.
This month’s e‐Briefing features a discussion with immigration and trade policy expert Daniel Griswold. Dan will describe the current paralysis in U.S. immigration policy and what changes we need to make to promote a more open, free, and prosperous society. He will talk about the need to create more opportunity for legal immigration, for both high‐skilled and low‐skilled foreign‐born workers, and why the Republican obsession with “enforcement only” of current law is misguided.
