New York Times columnist John Tierney has a [terrific piece](http://select.nytimes.com/2006/06/20/opinion/20Tierney.html?hp) about the recent no-knock ruling and the proliferation of paramilitary units or SWAT teams. He cites Radley Balko’s forthcoming study on this subject, which will be officially released very soon.
