Two new projects of interest for public policy junkies have recently come to my attention–and both happen to be the creations of former Catoites.

Marie Gryphon Newhouse, formerly a Cato education-policy scholar and now with [Harvard’s Safra Center for Ethics](http://www.ethics.harvard.edu/people/fellows-and-scholars/all?layout=displayresults&show=current&drp_display=4&current_mode=2&start=10), has started “a blog about think tank ethics and governance,” dubbed “the High Horse.” It’s part of her ongoing book project on that subject. Recent posts include [an interview with Heritage’s Ed Meese](http://thinktankproject.net/?p=259) and Marie’s take on a recent [pay-for-play imbroglio](http://thinktankproject.net/?p=242) involving Malaysia.

Former Catoite Jerry Brito, now [a senior research fellow at Mercatus](http://mercatus.org/jerry-brito), has (with [Peter E. Snyder](http://home.peteresnyder.com/)) put together [Wonkmeme](http://wonkmeme.com/), a site that “aggregates and tracks over a hundred blogs covering law, economics, and public policy. It detects which blog posts are driving the day’s conversation and presents the resulting data in useful ways.” It also “also determines which books are the most widely discussed,” and hey look: [*Cult of the Presidency*](http://www.amazon.com/Cult-Presidency-Americas-Dangerous-Executive/dp/1933995157) is [currently #4](http://wonkmeme.com/leaderboard#wmqt:quicktabs-leaderboard_tabs:2) (click quick before it plummets!).
