\[caption align=right\][![]()](https://www.cato.org/cult-of-the-presidency/)Download my book for free!\[/caption\]Last week, the *New Republic*’s Jonathan Chait [praised *Cult of the Presidency*](http://www.tnr.com/article/politics/75251/dear-leader), and the *Economist* [quoted the book](http://www.economist.com/world/united-states/displaystory.cfm?story_id=16274465). Which reminds me, I provided a link [in my last post](https://www.cato.org/2010/06/04/cult-watch-2/), but forgot to stress the fact that we’re now literally *giving it away* with [free online downloads](https://www.cato.org/cult-of-the-presidency/) (especially nice for those of you who are Kindle owners).

With [presidential “daddyism” rampant](https://www.cato.org/2010/06/02/daddy-issues/), and our National Father-Protector’s manifest failure to protect us from [oil spills](http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columns/BP-oil-spill_-Who_s-your-daddy_-95271314.html) and [tornadoes](http://www.windsorstar.com/news/Tornado+terror/3121116/story.html), there couldn’t be a better time to check out the comprehensive libertarian indictment (if I do say so myself) of the presidency, the very model of a modern constitutional monstrosity.

Download it [here](https://www.cato.org/cult-of-the-presidency/).
