* Position of inside ads depends on issue layout and ad width. (Feature articles are set in 3.75" columns, letters and book reviews in 2.5" columns.)
Advertising submissions can be made electronically (preferred) or in camera-ready format. Submitted ads should be in one (or more) of the sizes listed above, and should add additional trim space, especially if the ad includes a bleed.
Electronic submission should be in .pdf format with all fonts embedded and all supporting files included. Full-color electronic ads (available on the interior cover pages) should use a CMYK-build format. All other interior ads should use a grayscale format but can use a second color that rotates on a seasonal basis: Spring: green (PMS 562), Summer: blue (PMS 3015), Fall: orange (PMS 138), Winter: red (PMS 180). Any images included in the electronic ad should be at 600 dpi.
For camera-ready art, line screens should be 133 or 150 lpi (266 or 300 dpi) for best results.
All advertisements are subject to our approval of text and illustrations. We reserve the right to reject or cancel any advertisement. The advertiser and advertising agency assume liability for all content of advertisements printed and also assume responsibility for any claims arising therefrom against the Cato Institute.
