Tural Veliyev

Tural Veliyev is the editor of Azadliqciragi.org, Cato’s Azerbaijani website. Previously, he was a Cato research intern and in 2006 he founded the Free Minds Association, the first libertarian youth organization in Azerbaijan, which he continues to direct. Mr. Veliyev has worked for BP Azerbajan since 2004. His research interests are political economy of development, globalization and institutional change, and he is fluent in English, Russian, Turkish and Azerbaijani. Mr. Veliyev holds a degree in international relations from the Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus and an M.A. in international economics from Odlar Yurdu University in Azerbaijan.
