Cato Celebrates Independence Day

Monday 03 July 2006

On the 4th of July we celebrate our nation's birth. Most Americans will mark the day with picnics, cookouts, ballgames and days at the beach. On this day, the Cato Institute would like to encourage people everywhere to also remember the principles of government that are set forth in America's founding documents. And as we celebrate our independence, let's keep in mind that we're celebrating our independence from overweening government — British or American.
