Cato's 27th Annual Monetary Conference—Restoring Global Financial Stability—will provide an in-depth discussion of alternative proposals for reforming the international monetary system and correcting global imbalances.  In particular, leading experts will address the role of the government versus the market in creating financial harmony.  What institutional changes are necessary to safeguard the value of money against the “grabbing hand” of government?

Issues to be discussed at this year’s monetary conference include:
