Critics of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) claim that it’s an unaccountable global regulatory regime that is using its control of the domain name "root" to regulate the Internet. ICANN supporters respond by noting that the young organization is striving to achieve international consensus on a complicated set of issues and that no better system currently exists. In his new book, Syracuse University professor Milton Mueller argues that sweeping changes and a fresh start are needed. ICANN experts will be on hand to provide additional perspectives and comment on Mueller's conclusions.
